Peace in Pandemic & Protesting

It's a lot, isn't it? These last 4 months...It's a lot.

Peace is defined as "freedom from disturbance; tranquility."

How in the midst of all that is going on in our world do we have peace/tranquility?

First of all, we remember or realize that True Peace comes from the world within rather than the outside world. I can hear some of you saying "Are you kidding me!? How an I have peace within when the world has gone crazy!!??

That is a valid question and one I have been confronted by for most of my life.

It is seldom easy in human terms to be peaceful during truly traumatic, chaotic times.

Now our world, and specifically my country, is demanding change on very fundamental levels. First, we must create peace within. Then we will be instrumental in creating peace in our families, communities, countries, world.

For me, the path to true, abiding peace begins within me. The past 4 months of the pandemic and the separation from others that resulted have tested me at those very fundamental levels. My balance was tested and shaken to the core when a precious friend died of a heart attack May 25th. In the weeks that followed I could only do what I knew worked for me, so...

I used guided meditation 2-3 times a day. I cried a lot. Not being hugged or held was excruciating. So, I went for walks and immersed myself in nature. I sat outside & watched the hummingbirds fuss over the feeders in my yard. I listened to the doves coo & the children over the wall playing in their pool. I quit watching anything on tv or Netflix that didn't make me laugh.

And I waited for my mental/emotional bodies to heal and grow calmer. As I rested, I felt the Peace of my Soul which is constant. I know some of you will not agree....but mental and emotional peace are what become disturbed. Once you have connected with your Soul, your True Self which is eternal and one with Divine Love, you find the Peace that passes understanding and that never leaves. I can leave it but It never leaves me. Hear this: I can leave it but It never leaves me.

The Source of True Peace is Divine Love. If you were taught that you can do something that results in Divine Love leaving you, you were mis-guided.

God is Love...period...and Divine Love Never Fails, Abandons, or Rejects.

Turn Within. It may take more than one time but peace will come.  Now, when I catch myself getting agitated, I stop. I breathe and I turn within. I ask "Divine Love, bathe me inside and out in your peaceful presence." Sometimes once is enough. Sometimes I am stopping throughout the day because mentally I have trouble receiving what is already within me.

So, please, sit. Grow quiet. Stop right now and breathe.

God loves you. I love you. Peace is within you.
